Jill Martin Boualaxai
OPEN: 1st/2nd September only

Jill’s work responds to a sense of place and archaeological storytelling, working predominantly with found objects, interweaving them with drawn and printed elements, sound, light and video.
Jill works with artefacts and ideas about the passing of time. Her approach is archaeological, her sources are memorable, once significant, urban detritis. She creates work in response to place and historical narrative. Working predominantly with found objects and ephemera she collects old maps, architectural drawings, photographs, architectural salvage, redundant and broken electrical components and mechanisms, metal, glass, plastic and wood, altering their surfaces, their colours or textures. She interweaves these objects with drawn and printed element or casts them into replica forms. She transforms the discarded and unwanted into treasured objects.
