Claudia’s practice is based on observational drawing mainly of everyday moments, landscapes and people in public spaces and then developed into oil paintings.
"With pencil and sketchbook, I look for moments, which often include people in public spaces, ready to capture the emotions, gestures, postures and movements of those around me, the space around us, the way we inhabit it. I love the thrill of working quickly, before my mostly unaware models walk away or the feeling of urgency, which makes that instance unique, vanishes. Some of my fast sketches have been developed into ink drawings and collages, and I am now, slowly, finding a way of turning them into paintings.""
