Sarah Knox is an established painter based at Beaverhall Studios in Edinburgh. Her paintings explore the poetry of dissolving form, atmosphere, light and the spirit of place.
My paintings are primarily concerned with recording landscape and the spirit of place. I work in a shared studio at Beaverhall Studios, Edinburgh. I have developed my practice to include sketching, photography, filming and writing in the landscape. I have extended this through painting courses at Leith School of Art 2011-14, and a printmaking course 2014-15, and I attend Studio Practice at Dalry Studios in order to work alongside other artists and develop a creative dialogue. I use printmaking to further develop my work and have been an active member of Edinburgh Printmakers Workshop for over 30 years.
I teach art part-time at St George’s School for Girls, and this complements my own art practice. I have a passion for combining art and writing, and write poetry as a member of Rebel Writers at The City Art Centre.
