Kshema Cooper

Showing with Julia Macaulay / Alison Robinson

OPEN: 4/5 & 11/12 SEPTEMBER

16 Rosefield Place

Kshema makes intriguing pieces exploring aloneness and isolation. Working from initial drawings, she then employs a range of techniques and mediums, including collage and printmaking, to create poetic, subtle work.

"The impact of this last year has massively influenced my practice. The experience of aloneness and isolation, and the witnessing of these, has formed the basis of my ideas and expression. This unique period of time has created very particular social behaviour and response, this has offered new insight. Now that we are emerging from restriction, I see this theme encompassing the connection with the wider realities. What is the ‘new normal’ and how is that perceived? "
