The main theme in Peter’s paintings and etchings is impermanence and change in the world around us and how everything is altered by the passage of time.
Biography:
Born 1936.
Studied at Nottingham College of Art.
Awarded Andrew Grant scholarship to complete his studies at Edinburgh College of Art.
After 2 years of National Service, he travelled extensively
in Spain, the Middle East, Europe, Scandinavia, and journeyed up the Nile, through Egypt and the Sudan.
He taught art at Trinity Academy and was the Scottish Arts Council's Artist in Residence with Ferranti in Dundee.
His art is represented in the City Arts Centre collections and the the Royal Bank of Scotland.
He has been a member of the Printmaker's Workshop since 1972 and the Scottish Society of Artists since 1965.
He had and exhibition at the Henderson Gallery in 2011 entitled Future Cityscapes. He is best known in Edinburgh for his etching and printmaking.
