Emily is a fashion, accessories and homewares designer specialising in vintage-inspired designs. Her work focuses on vibrant prints and colour, using quality textiles sourced from around the world. She has a particular love of 1950’s tropicana, the spirit of which infuses much of her work.
With a background in anthropology, and training in industrial manufacturing and pattern cutting, Emily aims to create the colourful world she wants to live in. She creates clothing, accessories and homewares that are known for their celebratory use of colour. She believes that design should bring fun and humour into our lives, and is inspired by rebels, wine, John Waters movies, and the balance between high and low culture. Magic and beauty should be woven into our everyday lives.
Using traditional tailoring and techniques such as applique and embroidery, she creates custom garments for clients such as performers.
She works with a wide range of materials to create accessories and jewellery. This could be anything from hand-embroidered tropical fruit and flower earrings, to metallic leather purses shaped like pills.
The main focus of her homewares is luxury cushions, using reproduction 1950s prints, handmade velvet piping, and custom cruelty-free feather inners.
