SITE SPECIFIC | Susana Wessling
Beach, at top of Pipe Street
Sunday 4 Sept
Drawing map performances: 11am, 12.30, 2, 3.30pm
Susana Wessling has lived in four different countries over the last four years and her practice revolves around the idea of nomadism in contemporary art. She has five tattoos, a map of each of the places she has lived in. She hopes to add more in the future.
For this event she will draw a map in the sand, over and over again. Just like the ones on her skin but only there for a day, traced on the sand. She will work on an amalgam of lines of her own and the lines that direct you through the Art walk, a tapestry of traces of places, sutured together for a day (or until the wind and the rain take them).
