'A Second Ode to the Birds'
Emma creates a site specific work for Abercorn Park for this year's Art Walk. A world of tiny birdhouses oozing colour perched in the trees of Abercorn Park. Can you spot the giant egg?! A playful installation by artist Emma Macleod.
Emma Macleod is a visual artist based in Edinburgh, Scotland. She graduated from Gray’s School of Art, Aberdeen in 2007 and has since exhibited & screened work both nationally & internationally, recently including Art Walk Porty, Hidden Door Festival, Royal Scottish Academy, Talbot Rice Gallery, Edinburgh & Periscope Project Space in Salzburg, Austria. This summer Emma has been invited to create art work for The Neverending Glen Project at Kelburn Garden Party in Ayr.
Her work is mostly concerned with the theatricality of placed objects. She works in many different mediums; video, photography, painting, light installation and object & model making. Key to her work is a sense of play through materials, scale and subject matter. At the moment she's interested in the flow of liquid, movement and hypnotic repetition.
